| In between existing buildings, BEAR Architects developed 9 shops and 13 houses in the histarical quarter of Zoetermeer. The project has got a private inner area connecting all the adjecent houses. The faxades had to match the historical character of the area. The materials and measures used are far ahead of their time. Many environmentally friendly materials have been used and floating floors minimise contact-noise. |

| The houses are energy efficient and have been equipped with balanced ventilation with heat exchange. Solar Energy is used for heating water. The houses are equipped with flexible louvres by default to keep out the sun and prevent overheating in summer. | |
