Leidschenveen is a new housing quarter in
Leidschendam (near The Hague). The housing quarter faces the green meadows
of the so called 'Green Heart' of Holland. |

| On a site along the water we designed houses like ships
along a waterfront. Because of the broad view over the meadows, we placed
the living room on the first floor. |

The decks (the outer space) have different levels and
orientations. The lowest level is at water level which can be reached
from the living room by a steel staircase. The other (sun) decks are
situated on the first and second floor. |
| The two spans of the houses are either solid or transparent.
This gives a waterfront where the terraced houses look like separate
houses. The interior has a lot of dynamic space because of the height
of the ceilings and the different floor levels. The heat that will be
built up in the transparent span will be used by a heat pump. |
