Sustainable office renewal |

| A real city house, build in the thirties, as a shop with upstairs
apartment. For this house we had to design a sustainable retrofit. Starting point is the construction. All walls and floors are inspected and repaired or renewed where necessary. Second the whole skin of the building is insulated. An outside insulation with R = 4.0 and new Scandinavian windows with triple glazing U-value = 1.2. The third step is an attached greenhouse at the back and on top of the building. The roof of the greenhouse has integrated transparent PV-laminates. The south wall is covered with photovoltaic modules as well. A balanced ventilation system with heat recovery uses the heat that is built up in the greenhouse. Rainwater is collected in the V-shaped roof and stored in a tank in the basement. About 40% of the water demand for the household is used for the toilet flush. By using rainwater and the WISA WSS water saving system, this 40% is saved. |
